What are the characteristics of Acid Violet 48 in dyeing and printing?

1. Dyeing characteristics
Solubility and stability
Acid Violet 48 is a caramel-colored powder with excellent solubility, especially at high temperatures. Its solubility is 80g/L (90℃), which means that under appropriate temperature and solvent conditions, it can dissolve quickly and fully, providing a good foundation for the subsequent dyeing process. In addition, Acid Violet 48 has good stability under different acid and alkali conditions and can maintain its dyeing performance within a certain range.
Color performance
When Acid Violet 48 is dissolved in water, its aqueous solution presents a magenta color, which provides a rich color selection for dyeing. More interestingly, when hydrochloric acid is added to the aqueous solution, the color changes to caramel red, accompanied by precipitation; and when sodium hydroxide is added, the color becomes more vivid, also accompanied by precipitation. These color change characteristics enable Acid Violet 48 to adjust the color effect as needed during the dyeing process to meet different dyeing needs.
Color fastness
Acid Violet 48 shows good color fastness during dyeing, especially when dyeing wool semi-finished products such as loose wool, wool tops, hanks and cheese yarns. Its color is bluer, the color yield is high, and the color after dyeing is stable and not easy to fade. This makes Acid Violet 48 an ideal choice for dyeing medium to dark colors.
Levelness and white discharge
Although the levelness of Acid Violet 48 is rated as medium, under appropriate dyeing conditions, through reasonable process control, a relatively uniform dyeing effect can still be obtained. However, its white discharge is relatively poor, which requires special attention during the dyeing process to avoid unnecessary color differences or insufficient whiteness.
Compatibility
Acid Violet 48 is insensitive to chromium salts, which makes it compatible when mixed with other dyes or auxiliaries. In addition, it can also be used for color matching with acid mordant dyes or to adjust the color, which further broadens its application range.

2. Printing characteristics
In terms of printing, Acid Violet 48 also shows unique advantages. Due to its bright colors, good stability and easy solubility in water, it is very suitable for direct printing of fabrics such as wool and silk. During the printing process, Acid Violet 48 can quickly penetrate into the fabric fibers and firmly combine with the fibers, thereby obtaining a clear and lasting printing effect. At the same time, its good dyeing fastness also ensures that the printed fabric is not easy to fade or change color during subsequent processing and use.

3. Application Examples
Acid Violet 48 has been widely used in the dyeing of wool, silk, nylon and wool blended fabrics. When wool and other fibers are dyed in the same bath, the color of nylon is similar to that of wool, while silk is lighter; polyester is slightly stained but cellulose fibers are rarely stained. These characteristics enable Acid Violet 48 to maintain good color consistency and clarity in the dyeing of blended fabrics. In addition, in the dyeing and printing production of high-end textiles such as silk and wool, Acid Violet 48 is also favored for its unique color effect and good dyeing performance.

Acid Violet 48 has shown excellent properties and wide application value in dyeing and printing. Its good solubility, bright colors, high color fastness and strong compatibility make it one of the indispensable important dyes in the textile printing and dyeing industry.
